Reflection
WALT write an explanation.  In this activity I learnt that there are loads of different lettuces and that lettuce has vitamin C in it.  I need to work on putting in more time connectives.

Morepork facts

I am learning to skin and scan to find information in a text.  I learnt that Moreporks can Turn their head 270 degrees which is almost a full circle.  I worked with a buddy and enjoyed this activity.

The Beekeeper

Reflection I am learning to find and summarise information by choosing the most important information in a text. The most challenging thing to do was the summary because I didn't know what to do at first then I asked a friend for help and then I knew what to do. I need to keep working on this.

EPS school values sorting activity

In this activity I was sorting the 3 rs.  I found this activity a little tricky because i didn't know where to put some like for resilience.  I am working on resilience because I need to have a can do attitude.

My Bumble Bee - Exaggeration poem

I am learning to write an exaggeration poem.  I found this piece of work a little challenging because I had to redo it because in my other poem my sentences were all in the wrong order and this one is in order because my sentences aren't all in the wrong order.

Food Chain

In this activity I was learning about food chains. I learnt that aphids eats rosebushes and I found this pretty easy because in the example it starts with a sun so i know to start with a sun as well and then grass so I know to use the rosebush.

Finding a Unit Fraction of a Set

Reflection
In this activity I was learning to find the fraction of a set. I found this activity tricky because I didn't know what to do and it also had the wrong amount of counters. I need to keep practicing this.

The Falcon

Reflection
I was learning to extend my vocabulary. I found this work easy because some of the answers to the questions were in the text, book or in the dictionary. I need to keep working on new vocabulary in texts that I read.

Reflection
I am learning to link (both implicit and explicit) in the text to give a greater understanding of the story.  I found this easy because the questions were in the text and pictures.  The most important thing that  I have learnt is to never give up and keep on trying.

Tell the time in five minute intervals

Reflection                                                                                                                                            WALT tell the time in blocks of five minutes.  I found this tricky because I didn't know some of the answers.  I need to keep practicing.

I found this easy because the questions were in the book and some I had to search up.

Reflection WALT I am learning to make connections.  I found this easy because in the story of Toroa's Journey there were pictures and text with some hints of what the questions were.  I enjoyed putting the stickers on. 

Explanation Writing

Reflection I was learning to write an explanation. I learnt how to write an explanation and could do time connectives and topic words and topic sentences. Next time I could add more detail. I found tricky because I wasn't here when our class made it.

In this activity I was learning to plan for my explanation writing using a graphic organiser on padlet. I found this easy because I looked at the pictures.

I was learning to make and justify inferences. I was learning to do inferences and make guesses from clues.

Reflection
IALT : use place value with 2 digit numbers.  I found this activity tricky because I was confused in the beginning when I started.   I enjoyed doing this activity.

Softball Clinic

Reflection
In this activity I was learning to bat and catch in softball.  I enjoyed doing the catching. It was lots of fun.

Free Juice - Inferencing

Reflection WALT make and justify simple inferences. I need to work on inferencing. I enjoyed doing this activity.

Our gifted garden - Skimming and Scanning

Reflection WALT find information by skimming and scanning.  I found it easy finding the answers in the book because I looked at the text and the pictures to help me.  I enjoyed doing this. Next time I could on inferencing.

Statistical Enquiry

     We are learning to do a statistical inquiry. I asked a question and I gathered information on a tally chart. I could analyse the data from my graph.  I found it tricky to know if I had asked everybody. Next I could learn about using other types of graphs. I enjoyed doing this.

Bio Poem

Reflection
WALT write a Bio Poem.  I found it tricky trying to only put three in each of line because I had a lot of information.  I think I need to improve on doing the Bio Poem faster.  I enjoyed changing the font on my writing to make it look cool.

Welcome to my Year 4 learning blog.  This year I am in Room 14 and my teacher is Mrs Prendergast.  I enjoy playing with my friend Tiffany.  This year I am looking forward to swimming because I want to learn how to swim.  I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
